Digital art is an artistic creation or expression that makes use of modern computer technology as a part or of the design process. Since the early 1960s, different names have been applied to this unique process, including digital paintings and computer painting. Digital art itself is often placed in the bigger umbrella term new media artwork. Some forms of new media artwork include 3D modeling, sound recording, film/video art, visual representation, animation, and video art. This form of art generally follows a specific theme or direction, often representing an event or time in history.

The use of new technologies has allowed painters to display images and data in much greater detail than was once the case. Paintings, for example, can now be scanned in a similar fashion to a digital photo and then used as the basis for a painting. Once the data or painting is scanned into the computer, the painting can be manipulated using computer software. A painter may then add textures and color using the appropriate type of software program. This allows for a limitless amount of creativity and originality in the creation of a painting. Traditionalists however, would argue that painting is only limited by a human mind and the limits of the human body.

Painting has now moved from the realm of the artist to that of the viewer. With digital painting, painters can create works of art that their audiences can experience through a computer monitor or other device. These works are often much more detailed and lifelike than any traditional painting could ever be. One great example of this is virtual reality. Virtual reality allows for virtual reality headsets worn by the user, which allows the user to experience the effects or scene using a variety of movements.

Many industrial coating technologies have made the roller coating of metals a pastime that many carpenters take up. By adding lubrication to the metal before painting it offers an improved smoothness to the surface. The coating also protects the metal from corrosion and rusting. This practice has made the industrial coatings much more affordable to many.

The paints on the market today are much more durable and long lasting than the paints found years ago. The paints available today are much lighter and are easier to apply than the heavy oils and acrylics that were once used in the painting industry. The paints are able to provide a much brighter and healthier work environment. It is also much easier to clean aluminum, copper, brass, and stainless steel. These advances have made the industrial coatings and products available in the residential and commercial painting industry very appealing.

There are numerous other reasons why technological advances have made the residential painting and coating industry easier and more durable. One such advancement is in the area of bonding. Coatings that have high levels of bonding are much more durable and easier to apply to the surface of your home or business. Many new paints and coatings now offer high levels of bonding, which make them perfect for harsh outdoor conditions.

Paint manufacturers have also taken advantage of technology by creating a wide variety of paints. Advances in manufacturing techniques have made the creation of paints with multiple colors possible and the ability to create complex color mixtures possible. The paint manufacturers and painters who utilize these advanced paint materials are able to create paints that are not only striking in appearance, but durable and long lasting as well. The new paint materials are much easier to work with and produce a superior end result.

Paint manufacturers and technicians have also utilized advanced coatings to protect their finished work from damage. There are now paint protection coatings on many of today’s paints and there have been advanced developments in the protection systems that are applied on painted surfaces. Paint protection coatings are designed to resist harsh weathering and prevent damage from occurring. There are now advanced UV protective paints on many of today’s paints which will help to prevent fading from the sun and water damage. New materials like polyurethane based liquids and microporous materials have also been created to resist impact and to withstand repeated and prolonged exposure to harsh elements including chlorine and ozone.
